The Young Tripuri Association (YTA) has sought registration of an FIR against a group of men over an alleged incident of stalking, sexual harassment, sexually coloured remarks and criminal intimidation involving women in Dharmanagar.
In a written complaint submitted to the Officer-in-Charge of the West Agartala Women Police Station, YTA General Secretary Haba Debbarma alleged that on August 29, 2026, a group of men, including Imran Ali, stopped their vehicles on the National Highway in the Balidhum ADC Village area under Dharmanagar Police Station after allegedly seeing a group of girls walking along the road.
According to the complaint, the men allegedly made malicious and sexually coloured remarks and gestures towards the women. The complaint further alleges that one of the persons seen in a video imitated the way the girls were walking and made a sexually suggestive expression towards them.
YTA alleged that the actions and behaviour of the group created an intimidating environment for the women. It also claimed that only portions of the alleged incident were shared on social media and that further offensive acts may have taken place.
The complaint identifies Imran Ali and other persons appearing in the video as the accused. It also refers to a white-coloured Scorpio and a Maruti Suzuki car bearing registration number TR02N-0694.
YTA has requested the police to register an FIR and take strict legal action under the applicable provisions concerning stalking, sexual harassment, sexually coloured remarks or gestures intended to insult the modesty of a woman, criminal intimidation, and any other offences that may emerge during the investigation.
The complaint states that a photograph and a video clip shared by Dongour TV, a YouTube news channel, were submitted as prima facie evidence.
The allegations contained in the complaint have not been independently verified, and the registration of an FIR or the outcome of any police investigation will determine the facts of the case.
