Agartala, September 26, 2026: West Tripura Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb raised concerns over the pace of 5G deployment in Tripura during a Telecom Advisory Committee meeting of BSNL held at the telecom company’s headquarters at Kaman Chowmuhani in Agartala.
During the meeting, Deb urged BSNL officials to examine the progress of 5G services in the state and take steps to accelerate the rollout. He noted that while BSNL’s 4G network has expanded, the availability and expansion of 5G services in Tripura require greater attention.
The MP also highlighted the need to strengthen BSNL’s network coverage in border and hilly areas of the state. He pointed to connectivity gaps in some border stretches and called for improved telecom infrastructure to ensure reliable mobile and communication services in remote areas.
The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee along with senior BSNL officials. Discussions covered various issues related to network expansion, infrastructure, customer services and the overall improvement of BSNL’s telecom services in Tripura.
Deb’s intervention comes amid the growing demand for faster and more reliable mobile connectivity across the state, particularly in remote and border areas where network availability remains an important concern.
