Agartala, September 17, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha attended a mega voluntary blood donation camp at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday as part of the state’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The programme was organised as part of the service-oriented activities being held across Tripura under the campaign. Dr. Saha interacted with blood donors during his visit and highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in meeting the needs of patients during medical emergencies.
The Chief Minister said that donated blood has no substitute and appealed to healthy citizens to come forward and donate blood regularly. He also expressed his appreciation to those who participated in the camp, describing voluntary blood donation as an important form of service to humanity.
According to reports from the event, around 200 donors were expected to participate in the state-level blood donation programme. Senior government officials, including Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, were also present.
The blood donation camp was held on the opening day of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, through which a series of service and public-welfare programmes are being organised across Tripura.
The campaign is being observed in connection with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, which is being marked as Seva Diwas in Tripura. Programmes are being conducted at different levels across the state as part of the initiative.
The Chief Minister, in a message following the programme, also called upon people to strengthen their commitment towards serving society and working for the welfare of others.
