Agartala, August 20, 2026: The Tripura Cabinet has taken several important decisions aimed at strengthening government services, creating employment opportunities and expanding educational and security infrastructure across the state.
Among the major decisions, the Cabinet approved the creation of 1,177 posts across different government departments, including recruitment in the Health & Family Welfare, Home, Tribal Welfare, Printing & Stationery, Higher Education and Railway Police sectors.
27 Group-C Posts Under Printing & Stationery Department
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that 27 Group-C posts have been created under the GA (Printing & Stationery) Department, Government of Tripura. Recruitment for these posts will be conducted through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
219 LDC Posts Under Health & Family Welfare Department
The Cabinet also approved the creation of 219 posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) under the Health & Family Welfare Department.
Recruitment for these posts will be conducted through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT), providing another significant employment opportunity for eligible candidates in the state.
916 Police Constable Posts Under Home Department
The Home Department will undertake recruitment for 916 Police Constable posts, with vacancies available for both male and female candidates.
The recruitment is expected to strengthen the state’s police force and provide employment opportunities to a large number of eligible youth.
105 Posts for New Railway Police Stations
The Cabinet has also approved the establishment of new Railway Police Stations at Bishramganj, Udaipur, Belonia and Sabroom.
A total of 105 posts have been created for these railway police stations, comprising:
Sub-Inspector: 3 posts
– Assistant Sub-Inspector: 9 posts
– Women Sub-Inspector: 11 posts
– Women Head Constable: 21 posts
– Women Constable: 57 posts
– Constable Driver: 5 posts
Total: 105 posts.
The new railway police infrastructure is expected to strengthen security and policing services along important railway locations in the state.
15 Posts Created Under Tribal Welfare Department
The Tribal Welfare Department has created 15 posts on a fixed-pay basis under JRBT.
These include:
– Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): 9 posts
– Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC): 6 posts
Total: 15 posts
200 Assistant Professor Posts for Government Degree Colleges
In another major decision concerning higher education, the Cabinet approved the creation of 200 posts of Assistant Professor for Government General Degree Colleges under the Higher Education Department.
The move is expected to strengthen the teaching workforce in government degree colleges and support the expansion of higher education facilities across Tripura.
Sri Sri University to Come Up at Bishalgarh
The Cabinet also took a significant decision regarding higher education infrastructure by approving the establishment of Sri Sri University at Bishalgarh in Sepahijala district, Tripura.
The proposed university is expected to add a new dimension to the state’s higher education landscape and create opportunities for students to pursue higher studies within Tripura.
